Welcome to
the City of Crestwood

As Mayor of the City of Crestwood, I’m happy to welcome you to our wonderful community just outside of the greater Louisville area in Oldham County.

With beautiful neighborhoods, extraordinary schools, great restaurants and businesses and a rich cultural history, Crestwood is the ideal place to call home.

Although named Crestwood in 1909, the City was only incorporated more recently in 1970. Crestwood celebrates over fifty years as a City and is considered one of the most desirable places to live in the Country!

When I moved to Oldham County, I knew I wanted to get involved in my community and within 3 months I was serving on the City Council of the City of Park Lake.  After serving on the Park Lake City Council and two terms as Mayor, I talked with Mayor Deibel who was the Mayor of Crestwood and we discussed merging the cities together to provide a better experience for all citizens.  As part of the merger, I served on the City of Crestwood Board of Commissioners for 18 years. During my time as a Commissioner, I was surrounded by other like-minded individuals interested in maintaining the long-standing, neighborly community while promoting growth in a sustainable way. With that great experience and the long-standing mentorship of Dennis Deibel, Mayor of our City for 46 years (1973-2018), I was happy to be elected Mayor in 2018.

My goal as Mayor of Crestwood is to continue to nurture our City through community events at The Maples Park, while continuing to provide safe clean streets and neighborhoods.  We will continue to engage with interested businesses to add amenities and to promote existing businesses as essential pieces of our City. It is with pleasure and pride that I can contribute as a citizen of this City and when our Commissioners and I make decisions on behalf of our community,

It’s all about continuing to make Crestwood the best place to live in Kentucky.

Thank you for reading,
Jim Kramer
Mayor
